9A Testing the Hypothesis 2
Interview 1: My friend in Boston: Recently, he started
to use Uber instead of using his car. He is tired of getting into parking war
all day. He said even though this kind of app has been appeared, he would just
use Uber.
Interview 2: Classmate- He loves my idea. He is tired
of finding out parking space in school. However he was curious about our school
policy. He does not think college will help this idea.
Interview 3: The guy who lives next door- He has his
own car, of course faces parking problem. He liked my idea, but he thinks it
would not change anything, cause parking spots would be filled anyway, anytime,
anyplace.
Interview 4: Colleague in San Francisco- He has his
own car. The thing I heard from him was interesting. There is a start-up that helps
parking in San Francisco. He said it is kind of valet parking, someone comes
and gets the key and find the place to park instead of the car owner. However,
they have faced safety issues, like stealing something inside of car or steal
the car.
Interview 5: College Student: He does not have his own
car. He said in Gainesville, RTS is working pretty well, so he does not really
need this kind of application. Of course, if this application appears on app
store, he said he would use it.
Inside the Boundary: Who: People who owns car
What: Hard to find parking spaces
Why:
Parking spaces are far from the object, crowding, or restricted to
specific group.
Outside of the Boundary: Who: People who don’t have a
car.
What: Parking spots would
be filled anyway, real-time service is hard to deal with this
Why: They do not know what
would happen in that area, such as construction or traffics
I think this app is a great idea! I think by having this app even if all the spots were always full, people who pay attention and watch the app could notice a trend in when spots become available. Such as, if there was a notification of 20 spots opening up sent to their phone every day at 2.30, they could infer a large class was getting out then and they could schedule to get to class early to win those open spots.
답글삭제I dont think this app would solve the problem since those spots would still fill up. It would definitely help to make the situation better though. My biggest concern though is how would you detect if a car was in a spot? Theres no way to tell if a spot is empty or not so your app seems impossible to make.
답글삭제I've seen something in parking garages recently where lights are layered throughout the entire ceiling of the parking garage (one at each spot) and light up green if the spot is vacant and red if the spot is taken. I think a sensor could make the app possible however, it would still make a war in the parking lot. Only creating more spots would really make the situation easier.
