9A Testing the Hypothesis 2

Interview 1: My friend in Boston: Recently, he started to use Uber instead of using his car. He is tired of getting into parking war all day. He said even though this kind of app has been appeared, he would just use Uber. Interview 2: Classmate- He loves my idea. He is tired of finding out parking space in school. However he was curious about our school policy. He does not think college will help this idea. Interview 3: The guy who lives next door- He has his own car, of course faces parking problem. He liked my idea, but he thinks it would not change anything, cause parking spots would be filled anyway, anytime, anyplace. Interview 4: Colleague in San Francisco- He has his own car. The thing I heard from him was interesting. There is a start-up that helps parking in San Francisco. He said it is kind of valet parking, someone comes and gets the key and find the place to park instead of the car owner. However, they have faced safety issues, like stealing something inside of car o...

8A Solving The Problem

To solve the problem I mentioned, the way I chose was by using smart phone application which helps finding out empty parking spots. I get inspired by valet parking. This application would show up the closest parking space around the user. Additionally, this will show general demands of that spots and time they spent. It will also deal with sidewalk parking sign, so people can take care of it. This application could make combinations with restaurant or map application, so people can easily find their objects and parking places. The problem would be the overlapping with other users, so it has to be focus on real time thing. Also, sometimes city changes the parking sign so we have to figure that out or have to open real time feedbacks.

7A Testing the Hypothesis

I lived several cities in United States, Boston, Massachusetts, Eugene, Oregon, San Francisco, California, Houston, Texas, and Gainesville, Florida. Those cities are different, but they share one specific problem. The Parking problem.  I'm definitely sure that most of students or residents who have car have faced this problem at least once in this city. So the opportunity I would like to talk about is the solving parking space problem by smart phone application  -           Who: people -           What: hard to find place to park their car -           Why: College parking space is restricted for college faculties or residents, so do apartments parking space -           Testing the Who: The person who owns a car, and have ever faced problem on finding out parking space -  ...

4A Forming an opportunity Belief

I would like to talk about the problem I faced when I lived in apartment. Most of my classes are placed on day time, till 5-6pm. However, my apartment office finishes their business at 5pm, so I do not have anyways to get them any pay my rent. They don’t have online system of it, of course, no box for dropping rents. I guess this would be an opportunity exists.            The unmet need on this point is how to pay my rent. The only way to pay the rent is just by walk, go to their office and give them a check. I think the residents should need more ways to pay the rent fees. Online payment system is in everywhere these days. The need was always there because they have never changed their system before; but, they changed it recently. They do not even open on weekends and they close earlier somedays. Of course, there are late fees in the rent system, and the residents that I know always complain...

My Entrepreneurship Story

이미지
ENT3003 Gyuhyeok Choi My Entrepreneurship Story I don’t really think I have a time that I’ve been exposed to entrepreneurship, but I have similar one. When I was in Boston, like 2 years ago, one of my roommate was doing start-up business, which is called ‘Angela&Roi’. It is fashion brand, usually deals with female handbags and donate the certain amount of money they earned to charity. One day, during the winter vacation, he asked me to help for his business. It was not a big thing, what I had to do was just put stuffing paper into handbags. They do have contract with factory, but some of products got defected, so what he thought was trying to shape this as good as they can and donate it to charity. Winter in Boston is blizzard. Actually he does not really have to donate his profits or products. At the end of the work, I asked him why he related his business with charity. Maybe he could get more money if he does not donate his stuff. However, the words he told me is st...

My Bug List

ENT3003 Gyuhyeok Choi My Bug List 1. Gaiensville is way boring than I expected – Why? – I grew up in city whole life and my first college life was in Boston also. I lived in pretty convenient places, so it was pretty hard to adopt in small town at very first moment. 2. My time line is crazy, for some reason, I can not stable it. Why?- I don’t think this is the proper reason but whole my classes were in the early morning, and I’m terrible on waking up early. So I stay whole night and get into class. 3. I’m pretty much addicted to game. Why? – It happens to most of Korean international student in US. It is pretty hard to get into group up Americans. (No medium or something to join) So boys usually drink or play games with other Koreans and group together. 4. Korean restaurant around UF serves food really slow. If there are a lot of customers, the time increases exponentially. Why? – There is limited number of employees. Also, there are only couple chefs desp...
